Jakub Kulawik - Historical Instruments
Jakub Kulawik, born in 1993 in Krakow, graduated with a bachelor's degree in early music from The Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow under the supervision of Tomasz Slusarczyk, and with a master's degree with honours from Die Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen, Germany, under the supervision of Patrick Henrichs.
He performs music of the Renaissance, Baroque and Classical periods on historical instruments. In his artistic work, he focuses mainly on the music of Bach and Handel.
He has given concerts under the direction of Paul Goodwin, Lars Ulrik Mortensen, Tomasz Adamus, Marcin Szelest and Hans-Christopher Rademann, among others, and has collaborated with such ensembles as Bachakademie Stuttgart, Karlsruher Barockorchester, Leopold-Mozart-Kammerorchester, Capella Cracoviensis, Staatsoper Stuttgart, La Banda Barockorchester and the Polish Royal Opera.
In 2024, he participated in the performance of the second Brandenburg Concerto in F Major by J.S.Bach, known for its highly virtuosic natural trumpet part. The concerts were held in Italy (Teatro Comunale di Modena), France (Saint-Donat) and Germany (Leipzig) under the direction of Maria Sollazzo. In 2025, he founded the international historical orchestra TERREMOTO, which was enthusiastically received at its concerts in Kraków.
